Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 6, 2026

1. Introduction

Web8 ("Web8", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you visit www.web8.io, use try.web8.io, or interact with Web8 and its services.

Web8 is currently operated by an individual based in India and is available to users worldwide.

This Privacy Policy applies to the current version of Web8. As Web8 evolves and new features are introduced, including user accounts, server-side project storage, and paid plans, we may update this Privacy Policy to reflect those changes.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and communicate about Web8.

Information you provide

When you contact us through a Web8 contact form, we may collect:

Your name

Your email address

Subject of your inquiry

Message or other information you choose to provide

Your IP address

Contact form submissions are sent to our email address, support@web8.io. We do not currently maintain a separate database of contact form submissions.

We may use the IP address submitted with a contact form to help identify and prevent spam, abuse, or other malicious activity. If necessary, we may block an IP address using our server or security services.

Automatically collected technical information

When you visit Web8, our servers and infrastructure may automatically receive certain technical information, including:

IP address

Browser type and version

Operating system

Requested pages or resources

Date and time of requests

Referring URL

Other information contained in standard web server logs

This information may be used for security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, maintaining the service, and understanding technical problems.

3. Information Stored Locally in Your Browser

The current version of the Web8 website builder stores your website project data locally in your browser rather than on Web8 servers.

Depending on how you use the builder, this may include:

Website structure

Website content

Images

SVG files and icons

Website settings

Other information required to recreate and edit your website

This information is stored using browser storage technologies such as local storage.

Web8 does not currently upload or store these project files on its servers.

Because this information is stored locally in your browser, clearing your browser's site data, local storage, or other browser storage may permanently remove your Web8 project data. Web8 may not be able to recover data that has been removed from your browser.

When you export a website from Web8, the generated files are provided directly to your device. Web8 does not currently store those exported files on its servers.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information we collect to:

Operate and maintain Web8

Respond to questions and support requests

Prevent spam, abuse, fraud, and malicious activity

Identify and block abusive IP addresses

Monitor and improve the security of Web8

Diagnose technical problems

Understand how visitors use Web8

Improve the website builder and its features

Develop and improve future versions of Web8

Communicate important product updates

Announce new Web8 features or versions to people who have previously contacted us, where appropriate

We do not currently use the information we collect for behavioral advertising, remarketing, or selling personal information to advertisers.

5. Contact Forms

Web8 provides a contact form that allows visitors to contact us.

Information submitted through the contact form is transmitted to our email account at support@web8.io.

We use this information primarily to respond to your inquiry and to maintain the security and operation of Web8.

The IP address submitted with a contact form may be used to identify potential spam or abuse. If an IP address is identified as abusive, we may block it through our server or security infrastructure.

We do not use contact form submissions to automatically subscribe you to a newsletter or marketing list.

6. Analytics

Web8 may use Google Analytics on www.web8.io and try.web8.io to understand how visitors use the website and builder.

Analytics may provide information such as:

Pages visited

General usage patterns

Device and browser information

Approximate geographic information

Referring sources

Interactions with the website

Other statistical information provided by the analytics service

We use analytics primarily to understand website usage and improve Web8 and its features.

We do not currently plan to use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, or behavioral advertising.

Google may process information collected through Google Analytics in accordance with its own privacy policies and terms.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Web8 may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, maintain security, and understand how the website is used.

Analytics cookies

If Google Analytics is enabled, it may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about website usage.

Analytics technologies are not required for the basic operation of the Web8 website builder.

Where applicable law requires consent before non-essential analytics technologies are used, Web8 will seek the appropriate consent before enabling them.

Browser storage

The Web8 builder uses browser storage to save website projects locally. This is different from storing your project on Web8's servers.

You can generally clear locally stored information through your browser settings. Doing so may permanently delete your Web8 project data.

8. Third-Party Services

Web8 uses or may use third-party services to operate, secure, and improve the website.

Google

Web8 may use Google Analytics and Google Fonts. Google Analytics may process analytics information, while Google Fonts may be used to load fonts for the website.

Cloudflare

Web8 uses Cloudflare for services including content delivery, security, DDoS protection, and protection against abusive or malicious traffic.

Cloudflare may process technical information, including IP addresses and information associated with requests to Web8.

Google reCAPTCHA

Web8 may use Google reCAPTCHA on forms to help prevent spam and automated abuse.

reCAPTCHA may collect information about your device, browser, and interaction with the website for security and abuse-prevention purposes.

The use of these third-party services is subject to the respective providers' own privacy policies and terms.

9. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including responding to inquiries, maintaining security, preventing abuse, complying with legal obligations, and maintaining appropriate business records.

Contact form emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the relevant inquiry and maintain appropriate records.

Server and access logs may be automatically retained according to the configuration and operational practices of the hosting and server infrastructure. We do not currently define a separate fixed retention period for these logs.

Information stored locally by the Web8 builder remains in your browser until you delete it, clear the relevant browser storage, or otherwise remove it.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information processed through Web8.

These measures include:

HTTPS encryption

Firewall protection

Cloudflare security and DDoS protection

Server-level security controls

Input validation for submitted form data

Measures to identify and block abusive traffic and IP addresses

However, no website, server, or method of transmitting information over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. International Users and Data Transfers

Web8 is operated from India and is available to users worldwide.

Depending on the services used and where their infrastructure is located, information may be processed or stored in countries other than the country where you are located.

By using Web8, you acknowledge that information may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country, subject to applicable privacy laws and the safeguards provided by the relevant service providers.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

These rights may include the right to:

Request correction of inaccurate information

Request deletion of personal information

Request restriction of certain processing

Object to certain processing

Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

Request information about how your personal information is processed

These rights may vary depending on your jurisdiction and applicable law.

To make a privacy-related request, contact us at support@web8.io.

We may need to verify a request before taking action to protect against unauthorized access to personal information.

13. Children's Privacy

Web8 is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to Web8, please contact us at support@web8.io so that we can review and take appropriate action where required.

14. Future Features

Web8 is currently an MVP and does not require users to create accounts.

Future versions of Web8 may introduce features such as:

User accounts

Server-side project storage

Cloud-based project synchronization

File uploads and storage

Paid plans and subscriptions

Additional services and integrations

When these features are introduced, we will update this Privacy Policy to explain the information collected, how it is used, where it is stored, and the choices available to users.

We will not treat information as being collected or stored on our servers merely because a feature is planned for a future version.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Web8, our practices, applicable laws, or the services we use.

When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
